After course completion you will have basic knowledge of how a mine works, types of mining equipment on a mine site, rosters, fatigue management and policies and procedures associated with working within a mine. This short course also helps you identify the different trades available, mine specific resume writing, interview preparation and a module on where to look for mining apprenticeships.
If you are unable to do this course right now but are interested in a mining apprenticeship, at a minimum you should familiarise yourself with seek.com.au and set up a search to get an idea of what employers are looking for. You should also talk to someone you know within the industry to help with a mine related resume. Mining apprenticeships for the following year will be advertised between the months of August to November. It is best practice to give yourself some time before this to start your research or do our online course.
